Jenna Dewan opens up on the breakdown of her marriage to Channing Tatum
Jenna Dewan has detailed the breakdown of her marriage to Channing Tatum - admitting it was hard to accept things were no longer working.
The 38-year-old actress met Tatum on the set of their movie Step Up in 2006, they married in 2009 and have a six-year-old daughter Everly. They were together for 12 years until they announced their split last April.
But Dewan revealed in a new book Gracefully You: Finding Beauty and Balance in the Everyday: "I’d come to realise the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter. First and foremost I had to accept the realisation this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.”

She also admitted the pressure of being part of a ‘celebrity couple’ had become a struggle.
Dewan wrote: “People in the World of Dance audience would ask, ‘Where’s Channing today?’ or ‘When are you two going to dance together again?’ I had to play these questions off while grappling with the truth of what was happening. The public saw Channing and me in this idealised, romanticised light… Let me tell you firsthand, when it comes to the lives of celebrities, a picture never tells the whole story. Everyone struggles. Every couple has their issues, celebrity or not.”
Dewan filed for divorce last October, the same month it was revealed Tatum, 39, is dating 31-year-old British singer Jessie J.
Dewan confessed it was shock to learn the Magic Mike hunk had found love again.

She wrote: “Not only was I fighting an emotional battle of having to let go and move forward in my life, I was learning things about my ex most people wouldn’t have to face - and over the internet, as it was happening. There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship. I felt blindsided.”
The World Of Dance host has now found love again with Broadway actor Steve Kazee, 43, and it was revealed last month they are expecting a child together.
