Jennifer Aniston has honoured her late dog Dolly with a permanent memento. While promoting her upcoming Apple TV series The Morning Show, she was seen wearing a tribute to the pet she shared with her ex husband Justin Theroux.

Theroux revealed that Dolly had passed away in July "after a heroic struggle", sharing photos of a beautiful ceremony. In a photo gallery shared by the actor, Dolly's body was strewn with flower petals as Theroux and another woman (presumably Jennifer Aniston) performed a spiritual ritual called smudging, where they held a lit smudge stick over Dolly's body.

Aniston has now honoured their dog by wearing a necklace with Dolly's likeness to a press day for The Morning Show.

She wore the silver necklace with Dolly's cameo layered alongside other pieces, as she promoted her series about a news network in the midst of its own #MeToo reckoning. Aniston both produces and stars in the project alongside Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, which some have linked to the scandal surrounding disgraced NBC host Matt Lauer (Aniston has since denied that the series is specifically based on Lauer.)

Theroux revealed in July that Dolly was his and Aniston's "most loyal family member and protector", revealing that she had been "surrounded by her entire family" when she passed away.

Aniston and Theroux split up in February last year but the pair has reportedly remained friends. When Aniston joined Instagram this week Theroux was reportedly one of the first people she chose to follow and the actor also welcomed her with open arms to the social media platform.

When she announced that she had joined with her first ever post - a photo of a Friends reunion that swiftly went viral - Theroux commented, "Woot woot!" He also hashtagged his comment #first.

Aniston's Instagram has since broken a record previously held by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, as her account is officially the fastest ever to reach one million followers in the space of five hours and 16 minutes. The Friends star currently has over 13.5 million followers - and counting.
