Even Jeremy Clarkson's own daughter has taken a stand against his "bullying" rant against Meghan Markle in a newspaper column.

In an op-ed for The Sun, the former Top Gear presenter said he hates the Duchess of Sussex "on a cellular level" and lies in bed "grinding his teeth", unable to sleep as he's consumed by thoughts of her.

He writes that he fantasises about Meghan being made to parade through the streets of Britain while crowds "throw lumps of excrement at her".

A number of celebrities, including comedian Kathy Burke and Countdown star Carol Vorderman, have condemned the columnist’s remarks, and now his daughter Emily Clarkson has joined the list.

Hitting out at her father on Instagram, the 28-year-old podcast host writes: "My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media.

"I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle and I remain standing in support of those targeted with online hatred."

Just a few days earlier, the eldest child of Clarkson and his ex-wife Frances, criticised the Daily Mail's coverage of Prince Harry and his wife as "inhumane".

In another Instagram post, she wrote: "This publication, and many like it, are hellbent on DESTROYING this woman.

"My steadfast defence of them has never been of the individuals I don't know, rather of two people who have, objectively, been treated APPALLINGLY.

"My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media.

"I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle and I remain standing in support of those targeted with online hatred."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex speak out about their treatment by the British press in their new Netflix documentary series, Harry & Meghan.

Harry said it was clear that some headlines attacking Meghan had racist undertones, and that his wife was condemned by the press for the same things Kate Middleton was praised for.

He also said he believes Meghan suffered a miscarriage due to the stress caused by the Mail on Sunday publishing a private letter she sent to her father.
