Yahoo News Jeremy McConnell jailed after missing community service
Former Celebrity Big Brother star Jeremy McConnell has been jailed for missing court-ordered community service.
According to BBC News, McConnell has been given an 18-week sentence after skipping a number of required appointments. Some of these non-attendances were reportedly so that he could get a hair and beard transplant in Turkey.
McConnell previously avoided an immediate prison sentence when he was found guilty of assaulting his on-off partner Stephanie Davis back in August.

As well as being ordered to undergo a rehabilitation programme, McConnell was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, and 200 hours of community service at the time.
Today (November 23), Cardiff Magistrates' Court activated the sentence (minus two weeks for community service he did attend) for failing to comply with his punishment, meaning Jeremy will spend Christmas in prison.
During sentencing earlier this year, the reality star and model's ex Stephanie Davis was also granted a three-year restraining order against him.
While sentencing McConnell in August, Judge Lloyd said: "Your personal circumstances have been outlined to me... The most important part of your mitigation is that you are a man of 27 years of previous good character."
Davis, who shares a young son with the star named Caben, decided not to appear in court to hear the verdict, but said she'd suffered from "severe anxiety" and depression in her witness statement.
"This incident has made me feel a nervous wreck... I feel like I'm drowning," she said.
