Jess Glynne coming to this East Lancs town to headline music festival

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Jess Glynne is set to headline a new festival at the iMEP Arena in Accrington.

The iMEP Music Festival, organised by Accrington-based iMEP International Music Event Production, will take place on Saturday, September 21, at the home of Accrington Cricket Club.

200 early bird tickets will go on sale today (May 24) at 5pm. They will be £40.

Demand for the tickets is expected to be high as global superstar Jess is set to headline. Other performers are yet to be announced.

Jess is known for singing Clean Bandit’s Rather Be, Route 94’s My Love, Rudimental’s These Days, and Hold My Hand, which features on Jet2’s adverts.

The only British female solo artist to have seven number singles on the UK Singles Chart, Jess was also considered one of the ‘most influential people under 30’ by Forbes magazine in 2019.

With 10 billion global streams, Glynne recently announced her long-awaited third studio album ‘Jess’ which was released in late April.

“We have been planning this concert for some time now and to have such a huge star like Jess performing here in Accrington is going to be an incredible spectacle and one which we are thoroughly looking forward to.

“Demand is already extremely high for the festival and with a capacity of 6,000, we would recommend that fans keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further updates.”

Speaking about her brand new album, Jess said: "If I were to summarise this album, firstly I would say that this album is unapologetically me, which is why I had to call it Jess.

"It’s about moving on and allowing myself to be secure, empowered, sexy, vulnerable and strong. I’ve allowed myself to be raw and honest with my lyrics.

“It’s realising why I love and got into music. Listening to artists like Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill, and Prince has inspired me to be the truest version of myself, and reminded me why I was inspired to write, to sing, to feel.

“I’ve been given so much freedom musically, artistically and creatively. No one has set any boundaries on me and it’s allowed me to be free and make Jess be the album I truly want it to be."

Accrington-based iMEP, are specialists in international music event production, and were recently announced as the new arena and front-of-shirt sponsors at Accrington Cricket Club.

General admission for the iMEP Music Festival will be £50, with priority entry tickets available for £65. 50 VIP tickets will also be on sale for the concert, priced at £100, which will provide access to a VIP Lounge area, arrival drinks, promotional materials, and canapes, as well as access to the VIP private bar and VIP viewing of the gig.
