WATCH: Jessica Alba Sheds Tears And Slams Gun Violence At Teen Choice Awards

The Mechanic Resurrection star took to the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, On Sunday and delivered a powerful speech calling for an end to the shootings that have rocked America in recent months.

Jessica was joined on stage by youngsters whose loved ones were killed in shootings in San Bernardino, California; Newton, Connecticut; and Orlando, Florida, and asked the millions of viewers at home to tweet the hashtag #StopTheViolence.

She said: “Together, we stand with these teens. Now more than ever, we need to stop, feel and ask what’s going on. It keeps happening, and it has to stop.”

The 35-year-old star - who has two daughters, Honor, eight and Haven, four, with her husband Cash Warren - and wrote penned: “#StoptheViolence I stand by these brave teens who’s lives have been torn apart by gun violence #TCAs2016″

Teenagers watching at home followed Jessica’s lead.

Justin Timberlake accepted the show’s first-ever Decade Award and gave a heartfelt speech in which he urged teenagers to not waste the next decade of their lives being a part of the “problem”.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of his ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ album, Justin said: “I’m here to tell you that you and your choices matter. My parents taught me to respect, respect myself and respect all people on the basis of their character.

"Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Don’t waste your 20s … be nice to your parents - I hope my son watches this one day. Go out, do the impossible and go on and become the greatest generation yet.

"What we do after that fall is how we make history because impossible is nothing.”

The big winners on the night were former couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, who scooped the Choice Male and Female Music Artists awards while Neighbors 2 co-stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Zac Efron won the comedy acting gongs.

Elsewhere, Daisy Ridley beat her Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-star John Boyega and picked up the Choice Movie Breakout Star.
