Incoming Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin insists he has no intention of moving to Pittodrie earlier than June despite his Elfsborg side crashing to their third defeat in a row.

The Swedish boss has agreed to take charge of Aberdeen, becoming Barry Robson's permanent successor, after his club's final game before their split against IFK Gothenburg on June 1. But last season's runners-up have made a disastrous start to their season and have now lost three games in ten days - with the latest coming this week when they threw away a 2-0 half time lead to lose 4-2 at Norrkopping.

That's left them floundering in fourth bottom place after five games and there has been plenty of discussion in Sweden about whether Thelin's announcement has impacted Elfsborg's recent performances. But asked directly after their latest defeat whether he should leave Elfsborg immediately, Thelin stated: "No. I am fully committed to continuing. Right now we are in a period where we have quite good performances, but not so good results and that causes frustration and some stress.

"But we have been through worse periods in the past. It is important to keep all the emotions together and move on to the next match."

And Elfsborg captain Johan Larsson insisted they are determined to improve so they can send Thelin to the Scottish Premiership on a high. He said: "It has been made very clear that Jimmy won't be leaving until the summer. I enjoy working with Jimmy very much and for his sake want to end it nicely before the summer and I want him to leave with a feather in his cap and feel that he got to finish in a nice way.

"But our fans are disappointed with us and they have every right to be. So are we. They travel across the country and of course, we wish we could have given them three points We are in a period where we are being punished incredibly hard for any mistakes we make and have to get out of it. Right now we don't have an answer as to how, but let's dig our way out of it."
