JK Rowling has unleashed a new Harry Potter fact – there are two Harry Potters. Yep, TWO.

In one of JK's recent Pottermore posts, she looks into Harry's family tree, only to reveal that there was a Harry Potter before Harry Potter.

Yep, Harry's great-grandfather was called Henry Potter – but "Harry to his intimates".

"Henry caused a minor stir when he publicly condemned then-Minister for Magic Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War," JK continued.

"His outspokenness on the behalf of the Muggle community was also a strong contributing factor in the family's exclusion from the 'Sacred Twenty-Eight'.

(The 'Sacred Twenty-Eight' refers to the 28 British families that were still "truly pure-blood" by the 1930s.)
