The UK’s largest holiday park operator is looking for hundreds of new recruits in the East Riding after investing more than £260,000 to upgrade accommodation and add new facilities at three parks in the county, ahead of peak season.

Parkdean Resorts already employs almost 300 people in peak season in East Yorkshire. Between them, Barmston Beach and Skipsea Sands, near Bridlington, and Withernsea Sands, welcomed almost 80,000 holidaymakers last year, marking one of the busiest years on record.

Prompted by strong bookings for 2024, Parkdean Resorts will recruit 6,000 people for its 66 UK-wide parks, including 750 jobs in Yorkshire and the Humber. With 250 different careers across its business, the company is hiring for a wide range of roles in different departments, and job opportunities include cleaners, bar and waiting team members, maintenance assistants, lifeguards, security officers, chefs and kitchen assistants.

The recruitment drive comes as the company announced an investment of more than £34m in its parks for 2024, including refurbishing more than 1,500 holiday homes, adding new caravans and introducing new food and beverage units. Sixty caravans are being refurbished and two new caravans added to parks in the county to improve accommodation options for holidaymakers, with guests at Skipsea Sands able to take advantage of a brand new pool area and adult gaming refurbishment.

Steve Richards, CEO, Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re always looking to invest in the guest experience at our parks. Fifty-nine per cent of our customers rebook with us, and continuing to enhance our parks will help bring people back to Yorkshire year after year.

“We create rewarding jobs in the community, which can turn into lifelong careers in hospitality, and our staff engagement score of 83 per cent - which is well above the sector average - shows our teams are happy. 2024 promises to be another busy year, so there’s no better time to join our brilliant team who do so much to help our guests make lasting memories with their families.”

Parkdean Resorts employs more than 8,000 people across the UK, and last year welcomed more than three-million holidaymakers to its 66 parks in some of the UK’s finest beauty spots. With a number of British Travel Awards under its belt and with Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice recognition for 19 of its parks, the operator is also committed to making its parks more sustainable, reducing its carbon emissions and investing in local communities and supporting charity partners.
