Jodie Comer has been linked to a dark new role in a drama about killer nurse Lucy Letby, as she continues to film Danny Boyle's new 28 Years Later film in Northumberland, although sources are now claiming she won't be part of it.

Having had a breakthrough role in E4's My Mad Fat Diary over a decade ago, as well as having a small role in Vera, Josie has gone onto establish herself as one of the country's best and most sought after actresses, thanks to her star turns in shows like Doctor Foster, Thirteen, Killing Eve and Covid drama Help.

After a lot of speculation hinting she was joining the cast, Josie has been seen in the North East on numerous occasions over the last month, as she joins the likes of Ralph Fiennes and Aaron Taylor Johnson to shoot 28 Years Later, the new sequel to massively popular zombie movie 28 Days Later, which was a big hit when it was released back in 2002.

Earlier this week, Josie and Aaron were spotted filming scenes in Kielder, along with Oscar winning director Danny, who took home an Academy Award in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire. And, before production has even wrapped on 28 Years Later, Jodie is already being talked up to be in a drama about Letby, the neonatal nurse who killed seven infants and attempted the murder of six others between June 2015 and June 2016.

Letby was sentenced to life imprisonment last year and now plans have been leaked for a drama about her evil crimes, with Jed Mercurio, the man behind smash hit BBC series Line of Duty and Bodyguard said to be at the helm. The Sun claimed that Mercurio was working on the show alongside paediatrician Dr Ravi Jayaram, who played an important role in stopping Letby.

The source added: "Bagging a high-profile name to play Letby would help give the show the attention it deserves, too, but it’s not a role to take lightly," however,. now RadioTimes are reporting that neither Jodie, or Sophie Turner have any ties with the Letby drama, after the Game of Thrones star also saw her name attached to it.
