Jodie Comer was the first big name to be spotted on set in Rothbury on Tuesday, as the Killing Eve star shot scenes for zombie sequel 28 Years Later.

Having seen her name linked with Danny Boyle's new movie, Jodie, who has also starred in the likes of Help, Thirteen and Doctor Foster, was officially confirmed in the cast earlier this year, with her being photographed in Newcastle after a meeting with the the Oscar winning director.

Other stars in the 28 Years Later cast include Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Jack O'Connell and, as filming began in Rothbury on Tuesday morning, it was multi award winner Jodie who was seen first, as production took over a number of different areas in the Northumberland town.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Josie revealed that she'd been watching old videos of Cheryl on The X Factor to master the Geordie accent, having never had to do one for any of her previous roles. The 31-year-old was seen clutching a water bottle and looking well wrapped up on Blaeberry Hill on Tuesday as she prepared to film scenes for her latest project, the sequel to hit 2002 flick 28 Days Later.

And, as she stepped in front of camera, it was confirmed that star of the original movie, Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, will indeed be back for 28 Years Later. There had been a lot of speculation that Peaky Blinders favourite Cillian, who won an Academy Award for Oppenheimer earlier this year, would be involved in some capacity and now Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman has let slip that he is back, but in a "surprising way."
