Jodie Turner-Smith Files to Divorce Joshua Jackson After Four Years of Marriage
On the heels of their fourth wedding anniversary, Jodie Turner-Smith has filed to divorce Joshua Jackson.
The actress, represented by power lawyer Laura Wasser, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The filing, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, also lists the date of separation as Sept. 13. THR has reached out to representatives for both and will update accordingly. The couple share one child, a daughter named Juno Rose Diana Jackson, who was born April 13, 2020.

Neither party has commented publicly on the divorce, but on that separation date, Turner-Smith took to Instagram to post images from her birthday party at the Flower Shop in New York. Her carousel of pics did not include any with Jackson, who was present at the event though they arrived and left separately, per Entertainment Tonight. “As I embark on another new year, I can’t help but meditate on love and its many manifestations,” she shared. “Love is not some lofty unattainable thing. Love is a gesture, a look, an intention. Love is community. Love is showing up.”
Married on Aug. 18, 2019, the couple has made many high-profile appearances together, from the Met Gala to the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Most recently, they stepped out together in New York City on Sept. 7, when they helped unveil the electric Lotus Emeya car. At that event, Jackson presented Turner-Smith with a birthday cake, as she turned 37 that day.
Jackson, 45, has said that he didn’t think he was ever going to get married. That is, until he met Turner-Smith while attending Usher’s 40th birthday party. “I’m old enough to be able to do this,” he said of tying the knot. “Partially it’s about finding somebody in the right moment of life. If we had met five years earlier we probably would have had a torrid affair, but all the rest of this stuff, I was just not ready.”
For her part, Turner-Smith told Forbes, “When I met Josh and one of the biggest reasons why I married him, wanted him to be my husband, is because of how loved and supported I felt by him,” said the Queen & Slim star. “I had never been with anyone who I thought was wanting to lift me up the way that I felt that he was lifting me up. That is one of my favorite things about him.”
Jackson, well known for his starring role as Pacey on the beloved teen drama Dawson’s Creek, has recently starred in dramatic fare like Fatal Attraction, Dr. Death, Little Fires Everywhere and The Affair. Turner-Smith has appeared in Sex Education, Murder Mystery 2, White Noise and After Yang. She next stars in Tron: Ares, Bad Monkey and The Acolyte.
She’s slated to make her next public appearance Friday at Step Up’s annual Inspiration Awards in Los Angeles, where she’s being honored for being a role model. That event is set to take place at L.A.’s Skirball Cultural Center.
