Joe Swash has said his relationship with Stacey Solomon suffered so much after the birth of theirbaby son - he considered separating from the Loose Women star.

The couple, who have been dating since 2015, welcomed baby Rex in May of this year - their first child together as a couple.

Solomon, who has two children from previous relationships, has been notoriously open about her relationship with Swash and re-adapting to life with a young baby around.

It would appear the couple found the change a tough one to cope with.

In a candid conversation Swash admitted to resenting Solomon, saying if it hadn't have been for their young family the pair could have gone separate ways.

The former Eastenders actor made the revelations while chatting about their relationship on Solomon’s podcast Here We Go Again.

He said: "I did resent you. But it's weird, because in any other situation, I would have probably of gone 'we just need to take some time apart, we need to have a little separation' that's how bad it was.

"I think because it's a baby, it makes everything acceptable. There's a real reason behind it. If it was just a normal, every day, this is how we are feeling.

"Fine, I would have to think about where we were in a relationship. Because we had our baby, our family, it all becomes acceptable."

The podcast has also seen Solomon discussing breastfeeding and the challenges she faced with baby Rex.

She has previously said on Instagram: "So lots of people have been asking me if I’m still breast feeding. It’s taken me a bit of time to feel okay about saying no.

“I stopped a couple of months ago & I really struggled to come to terms with it & actually say it out loud. Breastfeeding never happened for me the way that I imagined.

"I did my best to try & master it, but it wasn’t to be. On day 5 we ended up back in hospital because of weight loss and I ended up pumping in between feeds to make sure he put it back on so we could be discharged, then I continued this at home until he reached his birthweight.”
