Joey King Signs With WME (EXCLUSIVE)

Joey King has signed with WME for representation.

The 24-year-old actor is best known for Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth” franchise, as well as Hulu’s true-crime series “The Act.” She scored an Emmy nomination for “The Act,” in which she portrayed Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who faced years of suffering and abuse as a result of her mom’s Munchausen syndrome by proxy. (The real Gypsy Rose eventually faced jail time for the second-degree murder for the death of her mother.)

King’s other credits include Hulu’s historical drama “We Were the Lucky Ones,” David Leitch’s action-comedy “Bullet Train,” Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Crazy Stupid Love.” This summer, she will voice a character in Universal and Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4.” King is also starring in Netflix’s “A Family Affair” alongside Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman.

King was recently paired with her “Kissing Booth” co-star Taylor Zakhar Perez for Variety’s Actors on Actors and reflected on her career as a child actor.

“My friend Phoebe Dynevor worked with an actor recently who said something very wise: ‘In order to have an extraordinary career, you must prioritize an ordinary life.’ That quote contextualized a feeling that I’ve always had,” King said. “It’s really easy to get distracted by the exciting things that present themselves in our industry, but you also have to tend to the things that really matter.”

King will remain with UTA for endorsements. She continues to be managed by Anonymous Content and represented by The Lede Company and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
