John Boyega says it would be 'surprising' if the next James Bond is Black
John Boyega has said it would be "surprising" if the next actor to play James Bond was Black.
The Star Wars actor, who has been linked with taking over from Daniel Craig, has said he is doing his best to stay out of the speculation.
Speaking on the Happy Confused Sad podcast if would ever play the spy, Boyega said: "I’m sorry but I’m black – I don’t know how."

He added: "When you’re black, I don’t know how that goes. You as a white man grew up in a society as a white man and that’s normal. That’s normal to you. Even the mention of a black Bond is like 'Oh, okay'."
Boyega also said he didn't expect the producers to cast a Black actor in the role: "I don’t necessarily believe that but if that’s what they’re doing then that is very surprising to me."
The 30-year-old actor is one of a number of names that have been linked with becoming James Bond after Daniel Craig stepped away from the role following No Time to Die.
So far, only six actors have played Bond – Craig, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Sean Connery.
Among the names rumoured for the role is Idris Elba but he recently distanced himself, saying played Bond was "not a goal" of his.
Superman actor Henry Cavill has also been linked to replacing Craig after making the shortlist last time and so has breakout Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page.
Other actors fans have expressed enthusiasm in replacing Craig include Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston and Suspect star Aidan Turner.
Boyega can be next seen in Breaking alongside the late Michael K Williams.
