John Krasinski, Natalie Portman Join Guy Ritchie’s ‘Fountain of Youth’

Apple Original Films has picked up Fountain of Youth, director Guy Ritchie’s next movie to star John Krasinski and Natalie Portman.

Skydance Media will produce for Apple, along with Vinson Films and Project X Entertainment. The film, penned by James Vanderbilt, follows two estranged siblings who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth.

They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure set to change their lives and possibly lead to immortality. Ritchie is best known as a director for credits like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, The Gentlemen and Wrath of Man.

Actor-director Krasinski is best known for playing Jim Halpert on The Office comedy, and his director credits include the upcoming drama If, A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part 2. And co-star Portman’s latest roles include Todd Haynes’ May December, where the Oscar winner stars as a Hollywood actress who travels to Georgia to research the life of Gracie, played by Julianne Moore.

Hatched via a first-look deal between Apple and Skydance, Fountain of Youth will be produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Tripp Vinson, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson and Jake Myers, with Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella executive producing.

The Fountain of Youth project follows Apple and Skydance teaming on The Gorge, starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy; the action-adventure film Mayday with Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh starring; and the release of The Family Plan, toplined by Mark Wahlberg.

Portman is represented by CAA. Krasinski, Ritchie and Vanderbilt are represented by WME, while Radio Silence is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
