Britain’s own John Oliver made US TV explode last night with a foul-mouthed rant directed at the Paris terrorist attackers on his HBO show Last Week Tonight.
While other TV hosts played it conservatively with moments of silence following the attacks that killed over 100 French civilians last Friday, John decided to go a different route with a “moment of premium cable profanity” that would make Danny Dyer blush.
He opened the show saying: "As of now, we know this attack was carried out by gigantic f***ing a**holes. Unconscionable flaming a**holes, possibly, possibly working with other f***ing assholes, definitely working in service of an ideology of pure a**holery.“
Quite the statement! But the 38-year-old comedian wasn’t done yet.
He continued: "Second, and this goes almost without saying, f**k these a**holes. F**k them, if I may say, sideways.
“And third, it is important to remember that nothing about what these a**holes are trying to do is going to work.”
The comic concluded by paying tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks, saying: "So to the people of France, our thoughts are truly with you. And I do not doubt there will be more to say on this as events unspool.“
I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to hear what he says next!
