Like many parents and guardians across the country, Jools and Jamie Oliver have recently dropped their daughter Poppy, 18, off at university. Both have shared tear-jerking posts to Instagram about their eldest's departure.

Jools told followers: "Clearly still can’t get my head around it [Poppy's departure]" as she shared a slideshow with recent pictures of Poppy and her siblings.

She told her daughter: "Pops you will be pleased to know I have worked out how to add music to these slide things (see I am able to use technology with out you)🤣 . But every bone in my body misses you, that's the only way to describe it ❤️."

In the slideshow we saw the teen's new uni set up, decked out in classic fresher style. Her pin-board is already covered side to side with photos, and her shelves filled with good luck cards, a sign saying 'Poppy's room', and books including the classic Catcher in the Rye and the Mallory Towers stories - because you're never too old for Enid.

We even spotted the sell-out John Lewis Peach Emoji bedding we wrote about in Summer.

A keen eye will see in the slides there's a photo of Poppy's special version of the traditional Oliver Birthday crown; a graduation cap to celebrate her finishing school and starting university.

Jamie went for a simpler picture collage, in which a far smaller Poppy can be seen in a pink 8th birthday crown.

Writing in the caption he told followers: "I can’t believe this young lady, my first born Poppy, has headed off to university. OMG where did that little girl go!?!?"

The chef also took the opportunity to speak to all setting off for this next step: "Emotional and exciting times for young people all around the country in these very strange times. I wish you all the best of luck."

Finishing his post he told his daughter: "Good luck Pops, love you so much. Take this great opportunity and run like the wind !!!! Go do all you dream of ...it’s waiting and hoping for you .... love Dad x x x x"

We're not crying, you're crying.

Good luck to Poppy and all of those starting or heading back to university.
