Jose Mourinho cool on Manchester United’s title chances despite two thumping victories

Manchester United sit top of the Premier League table with six points from their opening two matches and a goal difference of plus eight.

But Jose Mourinho is not getting carried away.

His side followed up their opening day hammering of West Ham with another 4-0 victory, this time away at Swansea City, to strengthen their early lead at the top of the table.

But when asked whether he felt confident of mounting a serious title challenge, Mourinho said that it’s too early to judge his side.

“I prefer to say that we started last season with two matches, six points, and we finished sixth,” said Mourinho.

“Two matches are not the end of the world for people that lose, and it’s not paradise for people who win.

“I am happy, of course, and the quality of the performances gives me even more confidence.”
