Dig out your baggy trousers and defunct Tamagotchis because Cruel Intentions stars Joshua Jackson and Reese Witherspoon are reuniting on screen and it feels like 1999 all over again.
Joshua will make his TV follow-up after The Affair by joining Reese for her anticipated adaption of Celeste Ng's Little Fires Everywhere (via The Hollywood Reporter).
The eight-episode limited series follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family, and a mysterious mother (Kerry Washington) and her daughter (Lexi Underwood) whose lives are turned upside down.
The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, and the ferocious pull of motherhood. Plus, the danger of believing that following the rules can avert disaster.

Joshua will star as Shaker Heights attorney Bill Richardson – a man from a modest background, who is married to Reese's strong-willed and charismatic character Elena Richardson. When he agrees to represent their friends in a fiery custody battle, the couple begin to fight about more than just their challenging youngest daughter, Izzy (Megan Stott).
Reese and Kerry also serve as executive producers on the project, which is being created by Reese's production company Hello Sunshine. Her company bought the rights to the book before its publication. Liz Tigelaar is adapting it for TV.
Reese and Joshua worked together on Cruel Intentions back in 1999. Joshua played bleached blond bad boy Blaine, while Reese was the adorable Annette who falls in love with and tames Ryan Phillippe's scoundrel Sebastian.
