Journalist Killed in Russian Strike on Kyiv

A journalist was killed after a Russian strike targeted Kyiv on April 28, according to her employer Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Footage filmed by the news outlet shows the wreckage of a damaged residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital.

Radio Liberty said journalist and producer Vera Girich, who was also a former employee of the Israeli embassy in Ukraine, was found dead the morning after the attack, which struck her home.

The outlet described Girich as a “bright and kind person, a true professional.”

Multiple explosions were reported in Kyiv during a visit by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday.
