Joy Behar is opening up about her past in a new format.

The comedian and longtime co-host of The View is releasing a new book, PEOPLE can confirm. The currently-untitled project will showcase "Behar's acute powers of observation and her ability to vividly recreate the little details and fleeting moments that make up a lifetime," according to its publisher, Regalo Press.

The non-fiction book will find Behar, 81, sharing stories on various subjects, including relatives, hair, erections, bullies and romance.

While the book is not slated for release until sometime in late 2024 or early 2025, fans can expect the television personality to "take aim at everyone and everything, including herself."

Behar has been a part of The View since its 1997 premiere — and seemingly doesn't have intentions to walk away. When rumors emerged that she was set to leave the ABC daytime talk series in 2020, she approached them head-on during a live broadcast.

"They're always talking about me leaving the show, but I'm not leaving the show. Rumors of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated," she said.

Referencing the coronavirus outbreak, she continued, "Here's the thing, what am I going to do? This pandemic has changed the game. At one point, you think, 'Gee, I could retire and take a cruise around the world.' I won't even watch reruns of Love Boat at this point. So where am I going to go? What am I going to do? I need to be on television."

While celebrating her 80th birthday in 2022, she emphasized, again, that her career is far from over. "I just signed a contract so I'll be here for a while. I have no plans to retire," she told PEOPLE at the time.

Behar said she's "happy to be a part" of the long-running talk show and explained why she's "having a good time."

"It's really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways," she said. "Sometimes I don't believe that, as I've been here since the beginning, but we're the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched."

While being celebrated by her co-hosts during a broadcast days before her 81st birthday last month, she joked: "I can't get excited. I'm just glad I'm alive, okay? You know, you get to a point where you wake up in the morning saying, 'I'm still here, my God!'"
