Judi Love believes that the Strictly Come Dancing judges are being too harsh when scoring Fleur East's routines this year.

The comedian and Loose Women panellist, who competed on Strictly last year, told The Sun that she wants to see East make it all the way to the final.

East and her professional partner Vito Coppola have been in the dance-off on two occasions already, despite strong reviews from the judges for her performances.

It has emerged that, on last week's pre-recorded results show, East was allowed to restart her dance-off performance after "an incident with a prop".

Love said she is baffled by the judges' criticisms of East, who she believes to be one of the strongest dancers in the competition.

"I want to see Fleur in the finals with Hamza," said Love. "The judges are so hard on her. One week she’s too much, other weeks she’s not enough."

Love revealed that her other favourite contestant is wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin, with his salsa performance to Ecuador by Sash! feat. Rodriguez particularly wowing her.

She said: "He can throw me around the dance floor anytime. Did you see him do that sexy [salsa]?

"The way he tossed his partner up in the air and caught her. I mean, who wouldn’t want that? It was wild.”

Love was the fifth celebrity to be eliminated from the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, alongside professional partner Graziano Di Prima.

She turned heads especially in week two with a blockbuster samba routine to Sean Paul track Get Busy — and she's still in touch with the rapper.

Love said: "I miss my Graz. I mean… just look at him. I‘m still in touch with Sean Paul too on WhatsApp. He loves Strictly too.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this weekend, with Yassin and pro partner Jowita Przystal currently the bookies' favourites to win the show.
