Justice League not releasing Zack Snyder cut on Blu-ray

From Digital Spy

Those DCEU fans praying that Warner Bros would release the mythic Zack Snyder cut of Justice League will have to keep praying to Darkseid.

Warner Bros dropped a new teaser for fans on Thursday (January 18) announcing official release dates for the superhero team-up movie - and it's not great news for UK super-fans, all around.

Despite reports that Justice League could make its debut as a digital download as soon as this month, the digital release for the UK won't be until March 12, with the Blu-ray arriving two weeks later on March 26. Watch a new teaser below:

That's confirmation that while deleted scenes will be included, Warner Bros is not currently planning to release the infamous Snyder cut - which may or may not actually exist - at this stage.

Fans have long hoped to see this hypothetical edit of the film that was initially submitted to WB by Snyder before he stepped down from the project, and Joss Whedon was brought on to reshoot major sections of the film.

Those hopes were rooted in Warner Bros previously releasing extended versions of both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad after the theatrical cuts were panned.

It's still possible that the Snyder cut could see the light of day at some later date. Rival studio Disney released multiple versions of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, after all.

In the wake of Justice League's failure at the box office, Warner Bros has instituted another set of sweeping changes to the DCEU's creative team in hopes of boosting the success of future projects.
