Justin Timberlake has maintained a "business as usual" approach for his Forget Tomorrow world tour despite facing DWI charges.

The 43-year-old singer was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, a wealthy village in the Hamptons, in New York state, after he failed to maintain his lane of travel and pause at a stop sign, the local police department said.

Timberlake was placed under arrest and held overnight until he was arraigned at Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on Tuesday morning and then released.

The Cry Me A River hitmaker is set to return to court on July 26, coinciding with the start of his world tour in Poland.

An insider told The Sun that the former NSYNC star addressed the situation during an extended conference call after his unexpected arrest, to preclude “tension” among the crew.

“He made sure that this arrest didn’t create tension in the crew, he reacted like a boss, like someone who owns his s**t,” a source shared.

“He said sorry for bringing this kind of attention to the team. Everyone was happy to hear what he said.”

However, it seems that his work has been largely unaffected by the DWI charges as a source close to the singer revealed he will continue with his performances in Chicago this week before his back-to-back shows in New York City next week.

An insider told People on Thursday: “It’s business as usual for him, the tour is continuing as planned.”

The Standard has contacted Justin Timberlake’s rep for comment.

The reports come after Timberlake’s lawyer said he is looking forward to “vigorously defending” the US singer after he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

In a statement shared on Wednesday, attorney Edward Burke Jr said: “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr Timberlake on these allegations.“I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.”

Timberlake was pulled over on Tuesday at 12.37am local time after police saw him “failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel” while driving his 2025 BMW, a statement from Sag Harbor Village Police Department said.

An officer who stopped him described his eyes as being “bloodshot and glassy” and said a “strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath”, a court documentreportedly said.

“He was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests,” the court papers reportedly added.
