The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge showed off their baking skills in London's Brick Lane on Tuesday (15 September) as they teamed up to make bagels during a surprise appearance.

Will and Kate were visiting one of the capital's most iconic bagel shops, Beigel Bake Brick Lane Bakery, a 24-hour business that was forced to reduce its hours during the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as having a go at making the tasty bakes themselves, the royals chatted to staff about how the bakery's employees were affected by the crisis, and heard more about how the business has been helping its local community through food donations and delivery services.

Will and Kate wore matching face masks during the visit, and while they baked in the kitchen. The Duchess looked stunning as always in a red floral printed shirt dress with long sleeves by high-end British brand Beulah, which she previously wore on a video call back in May.

Her dark hair was worn down in her signature bouncy blow dry, while she completed her look with a pair of nude pumps. William, meanwhile, looked smart and summery in a blue jacket.

Before spending time in the kitchen on Tuesday, Will and Kate visited the London Bridge Job Centre to hear about some of the challenges it has faced over the last six months while trying to help people find employment during a global pandemic.

The royal couple also visited the London Muslim Centre, where they heard more about how volunteers have been supporting members of the local community by cooking and delivering meals, picking up medication, and making calls to the most isolated, vulnerable and lonely.

This is the first time we have seen the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge out for several weeks after a short summer break. They were last out and about in early August when they visited Barry Island in Wales for their first joint public engagement since before the start of lockdown.
