Kate Garraway has revealed her children finally got to see their dad over Christmas, months after he fell ill with the coronavirus.
The Good Morning Britain presenter’s husband Derek Draper has been in hospital since March last year after contracting COVID, and in December Garraway admitted she felt “physically sick” at the prospect of Christmas without him.
But she has now shared that she and their children – daughter Darcey, 14, and son Billy, 11 – did get to spend time with Draper over the festive season.

Speaking on GMB, Garraway said it was “wonderful” for the family to be together but that her husband is “very changed”.
The TV star, 53, opened up when her co-host Ben Shephard asked how her Christmas had been.
She said it was “tough for everybody”, then shared: “There was lovely moment, which we did have, which was we did, over the period, get to see Derek and the children did which is the first time they have been able to do that, so that was amazing.
"Of course it was very heightened with emotion, because he is very changed.

"But it was still fantastic and I am very grateful to have had that opportunity and then instantly, now I am in a position where even I can't visit,” she added.
Garraway told of her fears that the current lockdown will mean she doesn’t get to see Draper for a long time.
Not being able to see him for the entire lockdown would be “impactful”, she said.
Garraway and Draper wed in 2005.
