Kate Garraway reveals husband Derek Draper home from hospital as she shares family gardening photo
The GMB presenter revealed Derek Draper was out of hospital and well enough to spend time outside in the garden.
Kate Garraway revealed Derek Draper is home from hospital as she shared a picture of him in the garden with their family.
The Good Morning Britain presenter had told viewers on the show on Thursday 20 April that her husband had been back in hospital as he continued his struggles with the after effects of severe COVID infection.
But Garraway, 55, revealed three days later that Draper, 56, was at home in the garden with their son Billy, 13, and daughter Darcey, 17, and their grandparents, planting a commemorative magnolia tree to mark Earth Day.

The TV presenter captioned the picture: "Funny how it was just grandad & I for the digging & planting & then suddenly everyone appears when up!! Crowning a very special weekend with the Drapers ( Aunty Sue & grandma you are here in spirit) by planting a magnolia tree for #earthday."
The selfie showed a smiling Garraway and Draper as he sat in his wheelchair with their children pulling faces in the background.
The GMB host - who took part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2019 - recently revealed that she and Draper had enjoyed a night out together to see Sir Elton John on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
But after sharing their special date night Draper had returned to hospital for treatment.
She wrote on Instagram: "Finally found someone who had actually filmed it rather than just burst into joyous tears as we did!!! Still can’t quite believe we were there at all - even hours before we feared Derek would be too weak - but he was determined."
Updating fans about how Draper was getting on, she said: "Yes Derek has been back in hospital this week & yes there’s such a long road ahead but #eltonjohn & @davidfurnish you gave the kids & Derek a moment that we will never forget and has lifted their spirits again to feel anything is possible."
Draper first fell ill with the coronavirus in March 2020. He has been left with significant brain injuries and spends a lot of time in bed, using a wheelchair to go out.
He returned home to Garraway and their two children over a year later in April 2021.
Garraway and former political lobbyist Draper married in 2005.
