Kate Garraway broke down in tears listening to Sam Ryder sing on Good Morning Britain.

The presenter had said she was “on a hair trigger emotionally” on Friday’s (30 June) instalment of the ITV show, which came a couple of days after she collected her MBE from Prince William with her husband Derek Draper looking on.

And her emotion spilled out as Eurovision star Ryder performed an acoustic version of his song Fought And Lost.

On Wednesday (28 June), the TV star was at Windsor Castle to collect her award after being recognised in the New Year Honours for her services to broadcasting, journalism and charity.

Draper, who spent more than a year in hospital amid his fight with COVID, was with her and watched from his wheelchair as she was given the honour.
