Fans of Kate Garraway fans have sent their support after the TV star received unsettling post addressed to her late husband Derek Draper, who passed away in January.

The Good Morning Britain presenter issued a desperate plea for help on Tuesday evening as the mum-of-two tries to respond to the ' unsettling post making demands ' which are addressed to her late husband.

Kate publicly shared a message on social media to Haringey Council after struggling for 10 days in her attempt to speak to someone regarding her husband Derek's death.

The 56-year-old explained how she had been on hold for almost 50 minutes trying to get through to the correct department in order to discuss "unsettling post making demands" which Derek can "obviously not respond to" after he sadly passed away in January.

Kate penned: "@haringeycouncil -please help - have been trying for ten days sold to speak to someone about my husband passing away - following unsettling post making demands which obviously he can’t respond to. I just cannot get through. Again today nearly 50 mins wait & before I could ….

Kate, who recently revealed she has debts of over £800,000 due to the financial cost of Derek's care, added: "@haringeycouncil … the man put me straight back to the beginning - another 20 mins and then it timed out as shuts at 5pm. Is there a bereavement service or SOMETHING!!!!"

After her unsettling post, many of her fans and followers took to the comments to sympathise with the star.

One penned: "This is so wrong on every level! Kate has enough on her plate, respond to her now."

Another wrote: "If you can Kate, turn up at their offices and refuse to leave until they finally do something."

Another said: "This is just typical. What a terrible thing to be dealing with after everything that has happened to your family. So sorry for you Kate."

"Do these people literally have nothing better to do? What can be that important. They should not be sending you any kind of stressful letters?", another penned.

One added: "Get hold of your local councillor if you can. So sorry to hear you have this on top of everything else you and your family have endured."

Derek was just 56 when he passed away after enduring a four-year battle with long Covid. The former political aide's battle started back in March 2020 when he contracted Covid and was faced with various health complications thereafter.
