Princess Charlotte might be the daughter of the future king of England, but the young royal enjoys as normal of a childhood as possible.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' only daughter is third in line to the throne, but the almost nine-year-old is treated more casually at school. Princess Charlotte is registered as "Charlotte Cambridge" but is said to go by a different name with her friends.

She reportedly goes by Lottie Wales, a reference to her parents titles after King Charles' ascension, reports the Mirror. And according to a story shared last year, Charlotte's friends aren't the only ones who know her as Lottie.

A conversation during a walkabout in Northern Ireland, Instagram influencer Laura-Ann and her son George met Princess Kate. The 30-year-old part-time estate agent from Belfast shared the story on her Instagram.

She said Kate told her son: "Hello, what's your name? Hi George, what a cool name you've got, and you look very smart in your bowtie. It's very nice to meet you."

While talking to her older son, Laura revealed that Kate said: "So then she asked how old Bertie is, and I said he is four and she said, 'Oh, he's the same age as Lottie'. She calls her Lottie!"

That's not the only nickname William and Kate have for their daughter. According to Katie Nicholl, Vanity FAir's royal correspondent, Charlotte's parents dub her "Warrior Princess" due to her "feisty personality". Back in 2018, Kate was at The Range and a fellow shopper told the Daily Mail that they overheard Kate telling Charlotte to "get up poppet". Other nicknames for the family of three have also been revealed.

At Thomas's School in Battersea, Prince George simply went by George, but his parents apparently abbreviated his name to 'PG'. That led to 'Tips' in a reference to the iconic tea brand. Whilst Prince Louis, the youngest of the bunch, was once known as Boss Baby by some fans owing to his strong personality.
