Kate Middleton literally wore an Anarkali, know how you can get this look

The Duchess of Cambridge is an international icon, and more so when it comes to fashion. Though she makes a conscious effort of promoting Britain-based labels, her favorite designers being Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Christopher Kane, she never misses to amaze her international admirers with her panache and elegance.

One would think a princess wouldn’t ever repeat her apparels, but interestingly, this princess surprised the world earlier this month by wearing this white Alexander McQueen for the second time. She had fashioned this floor length gown, with a plunging sweetheart neckline to walk the Baftas Red Carpet back in 2012.

Not that we are turning her into a martyr for this generosity, but don’t we all know how celebs avoid repeating clothes showcased at special events? Thus, this simplicity bags extra brownie points.

The ensemble, also in a funny way, reminds us desi peeps, of the good old anarkali we all own and have tucked it somewhere in our middle-class wardrobes. Some of us got it from Dilli ka Chandni Chowk, some from New Market, Kolkata, and some got it delivered from Amazon.

Style icon back home, Sonam Kapoor got hers from her preferred designer Anamika Khanna and looked majestic in it during the trailer launch of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015. The Bollywood actress went for a rather conservative version of it and opted for a higher neck-line. Apart from the fashionista, there are plentiful actresses who have carried this look with slight variations but equal élan.

The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor walked in to the sets of dance reality show Jhalak Dhikla Jaa to promote her movie Singham Returns and she looked like a million bucks in this stunning anarkali by Rahul Mishra.

And then we have the father-in-law-daughter-in-law duo competing each other in similar ensembles at different occasions. They have certainly taken the white and gold theme to a whole new level. Who do you think wore this look better?
