Royal expert Charles Rae has voiced concerns that Prince William and Kate Middleton may never forgive Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for the deep wounds they have caused. The eminent former Royal correspondent expressed his fears during a recent appearance on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, saying: "Well, I think it is down to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to make the first move."

He further speculated whether such an attempt at reconciliation would be welcomed by William and Kate, stating: "Whether or not it would be accepted by William and Catherine, I doubt very much it would be. There's too much water which has gone under that bridge. After everything Harry and Meghan have done with the Oprah Winfrey interview, that Netflix show... Spare. The flamboyant curtsey by Meghan on the show as well."

Rae concluded: "There's too much gone under the bridge now. If they're going to make the move, I am not so sure William and Catherine would respond favourably."

Piling on to the challenges faced by the family in recent years, Prince Charles has lost both his mother, the late Queen, and Prince Philip, while navigating personal hurdles like cancer diagnoses for himself and his spouse, Kate. All these, amidst the existing friction with his brother, Prince Harry.

A touching moment was witnessed on September 8, 2022, when Her Majesty the Queen died aged 96 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, surrounded by her children, Princess Anne and Charles. Prince William, Edward, Andrew, and Sophie Wessex rushed to be at her side while Prince Harry travelled separately to pay his respects, reports the Mirror.

Initial rumours hinted at Meghan accompanying Harry to Balmoral, but he arrived alone. It's suggested by The Mail that she "changed her mind" about the trip, with Kate being speculated as the reason behind this decision.
