Watch: Kate Middleton Takes Prince George and Princess Charlotte Shopping in London — with Budgets!
It’s not every day that we’re blessed with the opportunity to spot a royal in the wild. But much to our delight, it does happen now and again.
Take Kate Middleton, for example. The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, was recently spotted out with her two oldest children: Prince George (7) and Princess Charlotte (5). The trio visited a store called Smiggle, which is located on Kings Road in London.
According to Hello! magazine, several bystanders were impressed by the kids’ behavior in the store. As one Twitter user pointed out, Middleton gave both Prince George and Princess Charlotte a budget, so the children could pay for their own items at the checkout counter. Teaching fiscal responsibility to kids? Royals, they’re just like us.
The tweet reads, “The kids had a budget that they stuck to and paid for their own things with their own money. Just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!”
This isn’t the first time Middleton has been spotted in public with her children. Last year, the Duchess was seen in a U.K. grocery store called Sainsbury's, which is located near the family's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. She was accompanied by Prince George and Princess Charlotte, along with her youngest child, Prince Louis (2).
Still, the outing comes just a few days after Middleton attended Prince Philip’s funeral. Other guests included Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
We’re totally stealing this budget idea.
