Katherine Jenkins to Wed Film Producer Beau

Classical music star Katherine Jenkins has announced she is to marry her film producer boyfriend.

The 33-year-old singer confirmed media reports that she was engaged to Andrew Levitas and tweeted: "Thank you for all your lovely wishes of congratulations. They mean so much to us. Happy Easter!"

Mr Levitas, 36, is an American filmmaker, artist and producer, who also teaches at New York University.

He joined the Welsh mezzo-soprano when she received her OBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace in March.

Celebrity friends of the singer posted their congratulations on social networking sites.

Myleene Klass tweeted to Jenkins: "amazing news. Very happy for you x."

TV host Piers Morgan wrote: "Big congrats to my lovely friend @KathJenkins on her engagement. Andrew's a great guy."

Jenkins was previously engaged to former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones before the couple split in 2011.

She has sold more than seven million albums and is expected to return to the classical repertoire that helped launch her career in 2004 on her next album - due for release later this year.

The singer has travelled to Afghanistan to entertain UK troops and is a trustee of the British Forces Foundation.
