Yahoo News Kathy Bates looks unrecognisable after unveiling 60lbs weight loss
American Horror Story star Kathy Bates has unveiled her new look after losing 60lbs.
Bates is barely recognisable after adopting a healthier lifestyle, and apparently she didn't even have to endure a gruelling diet regime.
Instead, the Oscar-winning actress claimed it's all a matter of "mindfulness" and "just knowing when to push my plate away".
Speaking to Us Weekly, she said: "My niece told me this little, secret, I guess it’s no secret, it’s a biological thing, that at some point when you’re eating, you have this involuntary sigh and that’s really your brain and your stomach communicating that you’ve had enough.
"The trick is to pay attention to that and push your plate away. It took a few years. I would say you have to be really patient… I don’t like the word willpower, but I like the word determination."
Bates also admitted she feels better than ever, with her only regret being that she wished she'd started sooner.
“I have never been in such good health. I just had a physical. I’m doing great. I feel like a completely different person. I can move, I can walk. I just wish I had done it years ago.”
In November 2018, Bates spoke about her role in American Horror Story and revealed that she didn't know that her character would end up becoming a Satanist.
