Katie Holmes opens up on 13-year-old daughter Suri's 'strong' personality

Katie Holmes has opened up about her 13-year-old daughter Suri and given a rare insight into the attributes of the teenager.

The actor, who shares Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, explained how she was a "strong personality" in an interview with InStyle.

"I love her so much," the 41-year-old said: "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it.

"She came out very strong—she's always been a strong personality."

"She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it. Then she's like, 'Okay, I'm going to try the next thing.' She's very focused and a hard worker," she added.

The Dawson's Creek star also spoke about how it was an "intense" time for her following the split with Cruise when she relocated to New York City, due to the amount of interest in her.

Holmes still gets plenty of media attention and she ended up making quite the splash last year when she was photographed hailing a cab in New York sporting a Khaite charmer bra and matching cardigan.

The set ended up selling out within an hour of her wearing it, but she didn't intend to cause such a stir as Holmes was more concerned in getting "into trouble" with Suri.

Meanwhile, the mother-of-one was said to have split from boyfriend Jamie Foxx last year after enjoying a very low-key romance that was rumoured to have been going on for six years.

The break-up came months after they made their first red carpet appearance together at 2019’s Met Gala.
