Katie Piper’s Emotional Speech Moves Victoria Beckham To Tears

At last night’s Global Gift Gala, Katie Piper was honoured with the Global Gift Humanitarian Award, and looked absolutely stunning as she attended the bash in a Victoria Beckham designer gown.

Giving her emotional speech, which included detailing the horrific acid attack that she suffered back in 2008, it has been reported that Katie moved hard-nosed Victoria to tears.

According to The Mirror, Victoria welled up after the inspirational TV personality thanked her for “bringing light into her life” and getting her out of hospital gowns.

Speaking to the audience, a humbled Katie shared: “I won a bravery award and Victoria gave me a dress.

“I went from an NHS gown to one of Victoria’s gowns. For those of you who don’t know my story, seven years ago I was just a young, 20-something confident girl living in London.

“I was single and started dating a guy and went on a handful of dates and decided that guy wasn’t the right person for me.

“When I decided I didn’t want to take things further with him, he forced me, he raped me and he decided that nobody would ever want me ever again by arranging for somebody to throw sulphuric acid into my face.

“For me, I’ve been on such a long journey and I’ve discovered that a negative mind will never ever give you a positive life.”

The happily married mum-of-one went on to explain her appearance as she revealed the grueling hospital operations that she is still undergoing as a result of the horrific attack.

“You’ll see tonight I’ve got some very interesting couture tubes in my nose to go with my dress,” Katie joked, “My treatment is ongoing and I had surgery on Monday.

“I had some skin grafted from my right bum cheek, so I have a major Kim Kardashian bum cheek on one side with loads of bandaging under my dress, and flat ar*e on the other side.”

Following her speech, Victoria reportedly told Katie that she was “amazing” as they shared a hug after the ceremony.

Victoria’s best friend, Eva Longoria, helped to organise and host the 6th annual Global Gift Gala, which raised £100,000 for the Global Gift Foundation, The Diana Award and The Eva Longoria Foundation.
