It may seem like the unlikeliest of friendships, but Katie Price has revealed she struck up a close bond with fellow Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contender Anthea Turner.
The show sees 12 celebrities stepping out of their comfort zones and embarking on a host of gruelling tests of stamina and endurance on Scotland’s rugged west coast that are normally used as part of the selection process for SAS hopefuls.
And while the experience is likely to have proven incredibly tough for the celebs, two of them look as though they may have made a lasting impression on each other.
When mother-of-five Price was asked if she had bonded with anyone during the show, she responded: “Anthea Turner. She was amazing.
“I admire her control, her ability to let go and be OK with showing her feelings – mainly fear and panic – on this show. She isn’t a stuck-up prude, she is a life survivor and lovely lady.”
It would appear the feeling is mutual, as when asked the same question, TV presenter Turner responded: “I’ve got to be honest, my revelation from this whole experience was meeting Katie Price and realising how gorgeous she is outside of the other character she has.
“There's these two sides of Katie and meeting the real Katie Price was just lovely.”
Price and Turner are joined on the show by TOWIE star Joey Essex, TV presenter Helen Skelton, ballroom dancer Brendan Cole, former footballer John Fashanu, Hollyoaks actress Nikki Sanderson, YouTuber Jack Maynard, Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman, Rudimental DJ Locksmith, Radio 1Xtra DJ Yasmin Evans and former boxing champion Tony Bellew.
Putting them through their paces will be chief instructor Ant Middleton and his team of directing staff, Foxy, Billy, Ollie and newest member Jay.
The celebrity edition of the show first aired last year, and included celebrities Victoria Pendleton and Jeff Brazier. The series was won by former Chelsea and England defender Wayne Bridge.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will air on Mondays at 9pm on Channel 4 starting on 20 April.
