Katie Price has denied claims that she is helping convicted paedophile footballer Adam Johnson promote his public image following his release from prison.

The footballer was released from HMP Moorland on Friday, having served a six-year sentence for committing child sex offences.

It was reported yesterday by The Telegraph that Johnson had sought the help of Price to revive his career.

The paper also reports that Johnson is said to have been advised on where to appear publicly for photographers, and that he may consider reality television.

However, a representative of Price has insisted that the only connection is that she has known the family for years, particularly his mother and sister, and that they stay in touch because they all own horses.

Johnson’s younger sister Faye reportedly struck up a relationship with the former model, with the two of them being photographed together on a night out in Magaluf in 2016. Faye was also pictured partying with Price at home in Darlington in 2017.

Following his release from prison, Johnson has returned to his £2 million mansion in Durham. However, under his release conditions, he is longer permitted to spend time along with his daughter Ayla.

The disgraced footballer’s hopes of returning to the pitch look highly unlikely, after serving time for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan.

Johnson admitted kissing the girl but denied her claim that he touched her inside her pants and that she then performed oral sex on him.

A jury found him guilty of sexual activity with a child in relation to “digital penetration” but cleared him of the same offence relating to the oral sex.

He had already admitted another charge of sexual activity with a child in relation to kissing and also of grooming the girl.

Johnson had his £60,000 a week contract terminated by Sunderland FC in February 2016. He made 12 England caps and also played for Middlesbrough, Manchester City and Watford.
