Katie Price does A Whole New World duet with fan on stage during Newcastle show

Katie Price was put on the spot in Newcastle on Thursday night, when a fan attending her podcast show asked to do a duet with her on A Whole New World - the song she famously released with ex husband Peter Andre nearly 20 years ago.

After finding love on I'm A Celebrity at the start of 2004, Katie and Peter got married the following year and then performed a duet of the Aladdin song on Children in Need, with the reaction to their rendition was huge, so much so, that they then released the track as a single in 2006, as the lead single from their duets album of the same name.

And Katie was encouraged to turn the clock two decades during a segment of her latest podcast date at the Tyne Theatre, when she and sister and co-host Sophie invite fans onto the stage to join them. One of the fans in the audience was South Shields singer Gary Walsh, who has performed in many shows in the North East, produced productions for city centre haunt The Purple Peacock and been in front of audiences on cruise ships across the globe.

Not shy at wanting to get a duet with Katie on his CV, Gary had already asked off stage if it was possible and, when told of Gary's intentions, Katie went along with it, as you can see in the above video. While needing a bit of help with the timing to start with, the model and entrepreneur quickly got into her stride, as the captive audience, including Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry, got right behind her.

Talking to ChronicleLive about what happened, Gary said: "At the end of the show they just asked if anyone had a talent they wanted to get up and show. I had already put in my question of 'can we sing A Whole New World together?' which didn't get read out, so I was straight up, went on the stage through the wings and I was like 'I'm going to sing A Whole New World with Katie' and I just did it!

"So, yeah, it was a lot of fun. Really random, but there you go!"

During the evening, Katie also got on the mic to belt out other hits including Tell it To My Heart and her own single I Got U, having sang the likes of Whitney Houston classic Queen of the Night and Kylie Minogue's Better The Devil You Know during her stint as Queen Rat in North Shields adult panto Dick Whittington at the start of this year.
