Katie Price 'doesn't blame' Peter Andre for taking their kids away while she was 'self-medicating'

Katie Price candidly spoke about her time in rehab and how her children Junior and Princess went to live full-time with her ex-husband Peter Andre on Friday’s Loose Women.

The 40-year-old former glamour model has had an incredibly turbulent 12 months. In addition to narrowly avoiding bankruptcy, she was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and announced that her mother Amy was terminally ill.

Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women she admitted that she had been self-medicating last year, but that she wasn’t to blame.

“Last year I wasn’t in a good place, but you can’t blame me,” Price claimed.

“So much went on. They said I needed severe traumatic rehabilitation. It was to do with what had happened to me at the beginning of the year. In one go, I got told my mum was dying, my dog got run over and killed on my driveway, my horse got knocked over and killed outside my house.

“I had a kidnap threat with Harvey, I caught the ex-husband cheating again and then obviously divorcing him and then the hijack in South Africa. If you imagine all that and then having to divorce, it was a nightmare. I had nowhere to run,” she continued.

She claims she wasn’t self-medicating with booze, but using ‘drugs.’

“I wasn’t really drinking, just self-medicating on drugs. It was disgusting, but it was my way of dealing with it.

“I was in a manipulative marriage. My exes went behind my back, stuff happened with the kids where everyone thought they were taken off me. Then I was like: ‘I want to go in The Priory,'” she said.

She went on to confirm that two of her five children, Junior and Princess, now split their time between her and their father and her ex-husband Peter Andre.

“The kids are all back to normal. I don’t blame Pete for what he did. My ex told him I was self-medicating…It’s half and half with the kids now – and has been for ages.”
