“Do you guys smell gas? It’s pretty intense,” says Perry.
Country star Bryan, 43, chimes in: “We are getting heavy propane.”
“Heavy,” adds Perry, 35.
Sirens sound and the video cuts to a clip of contestants being told to stand up and go outside.
As she leaves the studio, Perry tells her fellow panellists she has a “slight headache” from the smell.
“You feel it?” asks Hello singer Richie.
“Oh it’s bad, it’s really bad,” she replies.
Once the group are outside they realise they can still smell the gas.
“Holy c***!” says Richie, 70.
“This is not a joke, there really is a gas leak,” says Bryan.
Apparently overcome, Perry declares that she is “not feeling good” and slips to the ground.
The scenes are due to air in the next instalment of Idol.

The US singing competition is now in its 18th series.
It started in 2002 with Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on the judging panel and since then has gone through several line-up changes.
Perry joined the programme in series 16, alongside Bryan and Richie, and the trio are now in their third year of dishing out critiques to budding pop stars.
