Katy Perry has paid an emotional tribute to Manchester, following Monday night's (May 22) devastating terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert that left 22 people dead, including children.
Appearing at London's Water Rats venue for an intimate gig last night (May 25), Katy paid tribute to the victims of the attack and spoke of defiance, before leading a moment's silence.
"It was hard for you guys, I know that," Katy said as she addressed the crowd. "It was hard for me, because we all love music. We're all listening to the same music.

"And you think about it and you think, 'That's my friend, that's my sister, that's my brother, that's my cousin, that's the person that loves music.' It's awful, it's awful. It's awful."
She added: "And whatever you can do to help, you should. If you can't do anything, that's fine. But what you should do is not let them win...
"They can never take that part away from us ever. Ever."

Katy Perry is in the UK ahead of her performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull this weekend, whose organisers have since confirmed that extra security measures will be in place throughout the event.
Following Monday's tragic events, BBC Radio 1 confirmed that festival-goers will be subject to "two rounds of thorough searches" before entering the venue – one at transport hubs, and one at the entrance gates.
A total of 22 people lost their lives and 59 people were injured following an explosion at the Manchester MEN Arena following an Ariana Grande concert.
Ariana was off-stage at the time of the attack and addressed the incident on Twitter later, writing: "Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don't have words."
