Police have confirmed that another man has been bailed as their investigation into the tragic death of a Coventry schoolboy continues. Detectives arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender on Monday night.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken into police custody for questioning. A West Midlands Police spokesperson told CoventryLive that he has since been released on police bail.

The number one suspect detectives are desperate to track down, Dolars Aleksanders, remains on the run. The 21-year-old is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

During a press conference yesterday, police confirmed the search for him has gone international, including in the 21-year-old's native Latvia. But he remains at large.

Sergeant Rich Evans explained: "We are looking at all intelligence and information that is coming in from the Coventry area and the wider UK. We are also fully aware that the suspect was born in Latvia so we are doing further enquiries with our international counterparts and using partner agencies to try and track him down."

He stressed that as well as catching Aleksanders, he warned anyone who may be helping to hide him or knows of his whereabouts could face arrest too.

"We don't want anyone to be harbouring this person, we need to speak to them, we need to establish what is going on, we need to get justice for this (Keaton Slater's) family."

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is being urged to call 999, quoting log 3407 of June 14. Details can also be sent to FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk
