Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms says she has tested positive for Covid-19 despite having no symptoms.
Sharing the news on Twitter, the mayor said the virus "has literally hit home".
"I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive," she wrote.
She gave no information about her diagnosis, whether she is in quarantine and when she was tested.
The news comes days after former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain was taken to a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, with "serious" coronavirus symptoms after attending a rally in support of Donald Trump.

A statement posted on Mr Cain’s Twitter account said he was taken to hospital after developing "serious" symptoms but is "awake and alert".
