Kelly Ripa’s Family Group Texts Are Surprisingly Relatable

Kelly Ripa knows the best way to get her family of five together—using a family group text, of course.

PureWow sat down with the Live with Kelly and Ryan host to chat about her newest partnership with Persona Nutrition, a personalized vitamin program. During the interview, the mother of three opened up about how she makes sure her family spends time with one another, in spite of their busy schedules.

“It’s a little different now that my kids are older, but I would always carve out time,” Ripa said. “I would schedule family time the way I would schedule a photoshoot or work meetings because it doesn’t necessarily happen organically, especially if you have three kids and they’re involved in different things and sports and school.”

These days, however, the 49-year-old uses technology to schedule family time—and her group messages are super relatable.

“For me, I just find that the more that I can put on paper—well, now it’s all done by text—and say, ‘Hey guys, Sunday dinner at the house. I’m making spaghetti and meatballs. Who’s coming?’ And that way we make sure we still see each other and still check-in and get to hang out as a family. Even though we’re an older family than we used to be.” Group messages about food? Who knew we had so much in common with one of the biggest celebs in Hollywood?

The television host also opened up about the difficulties she and hubby Mark Consuelos face when it comes to trying to hold each other’s hands and even elaborated on the time she recently embarrassed her daughter Lola on social media. Ripas, they're just like us.

So, how do we get the invite to this week’s Sunday dinner? Asking for a friend...
