Kenny McLean to Rangers hits transfer 'impasse' as Yusuf Kabadayi leaves Bayern for left-field exit

Rangers have suffered defeat in their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi with the winger reportedly set to sign for FC Augsburg.

The Germany U20 international had been identified as a key target in Philippe Clement's summer rebuild at Ibrox, with the Belgian boss keen to bolster his options at the top end of the pitch.

A deal for Kabadayi to make the move for Govan was said to be close but Besiktas, now managed by ex Ibrox boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst were also keen to land the player. However, reports in Germany say he has signed for Bundesliga side Augsburg for a fee of £760,000 on a four-year deal. Meanwhile, Record Sport revealed last week that Rangers were interested in signing Norwich City midfielder and Scotland international Kenny McLea

The Light Blues wanted to take the 32-year-old to his boyhood heroes but the Rangers Review claim: "The deal is off. A bit of an impasse between what the player wants and what the club is willing to offer."
