Kentucky school shooting: One dead and several injured after suspect opens fire at high school in US
One person has been killed and several were injured in a shooting at a school in Kentucky in the US.
The Marshall County High School was placed on lockdown after a suspect opened fire on Tuesday morning.
Upon hearing the news, Governor of the State Matt Bevin rushed from the Capitol to be at the scene.
He later confirmed there had been one fatality but that few other details about the shooting were yet known.
Mr Bevin said that police had arrested the shooter and that he remained in custody.

In a statement posted on social media, he said that “multiple” people were injured in the attack.
Savana Smothers, the high school's assistant girls' soccer coach said:"You just never think this will happen in a small town like ours."
She also confirmed that all of her players were safe.
Kentucky State Police wrote on Twitter said that more details would become available as further information was "obtained and confirmed".

The FBI said that it is working with state and local law enforcement to respond to the shocking events at the school.
