In a new interview with Closer magazine, the former Celebrity Mum of The Year says she is tired of people jumping to conclusions about her parenting skills.

She said: “This isn’t how I expected my life to turn out, I thought I’d be with my first husband [Brian McFadden] forever, but I wouldn’t have it any other way because I have five amazing kids.

The 35-year-old is Mum to Molly 14, Lilly-Sue, 13 – from her relationship with Brian - Heidi, nine, Max, seven – from her marriage to Mark Croft - and Dylan-Jorge, 23 months – with her most recent ex, George Kay.

She says that she often feels guilty that her children have different Dads even though she knows she is doing the best job she can.

“I’ve been slagged off so much for being a bad mum, which has been awful, so I always feel guilty.

“I know I’m doing a good job bringing up my children, so when people say: ‘Those poor kids, all the different dads, all the different marriages,’ it’s the most heartbreaking thing ever,” she says.

While Kerry admits she has used drugs in the past, she insists that now she is a fully committed, devoted carer to her son and four daugters.

The former popstar now credits exercise and therapy as helping her to deal with her demons.

According to reports, her counselling sessions are also being filmed, with plans to air them on Channel 5 show In Therapy next month.
